Question

When I try to print a file from adobe I get "wrong tray setting. Change size setting."

My printer is set up to "auto select" it's paper source. It shows that it receives the information but just spits out a blank page.

    OK, I can do that.

    Hi m. jolma C inc.,

I got your PDF, and it printed without error for me. But, I did notice that it's 33.5" x 19" (you can find the page size by choosing File > Properties and looking on the Description tab).

I did choose the Fit option in the Acrobat Print dialog box to fit it on an 8.5 x 11 page--so the document is scaled by 33% to fit. Please try that and let me know how it works for you.

I was so hoping it’d work, but the same thing happened.  I can print other adobe documents now though so I’m not sure what’s going on.  I have to leave for the day so I’ll try again another day.

    Thank you for your help.

I take it back that the issue fixed itself.  It let me print 2 different pages of a saved adobe file, but now gives me the same error message.  I'm using Adobe Acrobat XI

I can print a Word document and Excel document, but not Adobe files.  Can you help me get this fixed?

    Hi m. jolma C inc.,

So, it sounds like the problem is specific to Acrobat XI or the PDFs that you're trying to print. Let's try these things:

    • Select Print as Image in the Advanced Print Setup dialog box.
    • Disable Enhanced Security in the Acrobat preferences; it's in the Security (Enhanced) category.
    • Make sure that Acrobat is up-to-date by choosing Help > Check for Updates.

    Hi m. jolma C inc.,

Which Adobe application are you printing from--is it Adobe Reader or Acrobat? Does this message appear for all files that you try to print, or just a select few?

To get to the bottom of your printing issue, we will need some information about your setup.

    • Are you on Mac OS or Windows?
    • What are printing to?
    • Can you print from other applications, including those that aren't from Adobe?
    • Does the file that you're trying to print have mixed page sizes?
    • Has anything changed on your system since you were able to print successfully?

We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Best,

    Sara

I'm using Windows and printing to a Brother MFC-J6710DW multi-function printer. I just unplugged my printer and then plugged it back in and now it prints just fine?  Not sure why because I tried that last time and it didn't work.

    Hi m. jolma C inc.,

Computers can be so fickle! If the problem crops up again, please let us know and then provide the details that I've outlined above.

Fingers crossed that it was just a glitch, and that resetting the printer did the trick! (Often, that's all it takes!)

    Best,

    Sara
