Append to storyline ("E" shortcut) equivalent in Premiere Pro CC 2017

This question was asked in Sep/2012 by @DMH79.  Since there must've been various updates to Premiere,

I'm reposting it again.  Im a brand new user migrating from Final Cut X.

Its basically the same question I have so...

"[...] I've recently migrated out of FCP7 to CS6/FCPX...still can't figure out which I like best (FCPX for multicam and CS6 for the rest I guess) ...but one simple little thing that FCPX does have is this shortcut "E" which makes what they call an append edit. Basically, REGARDLESS of where the cursor is, when you have a clip selected in the project panel or browser you just hit this one key and its immediately placed at the end of the timeline. [...] is there a way to do what the shortcut "e" does in FCPX [...]"

Am I missing some way to do this?

I don't believe there is a direct equivalent to this command from FCP-X.

If, however, you move the sequence playhead to the end of the timeline first - by typing the "End" key - you can keep adding source material to the timeline via the "." key. The playhead will stay at the end of the timeline until changed.
