There are plenty of details documented in other threads. Just came to share that I too fell for the "annual subscription paid monthly" scam. It's incredibly disengenous to say it is paid monthly and hide the cancellation fee.
Shame on Adobe for these predatory practices.
The payment plans are presented in plain vanilla language that any 12-year-old can grasp. See screenshots from the website.

I am showing that you still have an active subscription, Why_A_Scam, so please complete the steps at https://adobe.ly/4kpYHIg to cancel your active subscription if you no longer wish to maintain your active subscription. ^JW

I'm from the UK and there is nothing obvious informing this is an annual subscription paid monthly, see photo of available monthly plans. In this day and age, I haven't come across any other company with this kind of policy.
I feel totally scammed when trying to cancel due to the software being quite unfunctional and offering little value for what I actually need it for, and then seeing they want a cancellation fee, what a nerve. Totally unscrupulous behaviour, they just want to take your money and offer no to little support for it.
