Transferring subscription from Google play to Adobe

New Here ,
Sep 25, 2025 Sep 25, 2025

I currently use lightroom mobile purchased through Google Play on my Android device. I have reached the 100GB limit and would like to increase storage/updgrade my plan.

It seems the only way to do this is cancel my subscription with google and then purchase a new one with Adobe.

Has anyone done this before? I'm concerned about what happens to my photos currently in the cloud storage, will i lose access to them? Will they transfer / be accessible again once i re subscribe?

Any guidance appreciated!

Unfortunately this just routes me to google play where the only option is to cancel the subscription, not update or manage it...

Any idea what happens if i cancel in google, then reactivate in adobe? Will i retain access to cloud photos?

Hi @Liam_Abu-Nimeh4308,

When a subscription is managed through Google Play, the options to update or manage it (like changing plans or payment methods) are limited within the Google Play interface.

If you cancel your subscription via Google Play and then reactivate it directly through Adobe, your access to cloud-stored photos and files should remain intact as long as you reactivate before the end of your current billing cycle or within the grace period Adobe provides after cancellation. However, if there's a significant gap between cancellation and reactivation, your files may be at risk of deletion depending on Adobe’s data retention policy.

To be safe, I’d recommend backing up any critical files locally before making changes.

Let me know if you have any questions.
