Upgrading from a Perpetual

New Here ,
Sep 14, 2025 Sep 14, 2025

I asked a forum if I could upgrade from my CS4 to the latest PS with a perpetual license. I got an email from Adobe Systems Incorporated, located in Ireland, offering a CS6 perpetual license at a discount. Is this a legiitimate company?

@BarDip  That is not a valid Adobe email address and the 'company' you are contacting is not Adobe. Adobe staff will never use @outlook.com as a domain name. You are right to red flag it, unfortunately scammers use such addresses and occasionaly PM people in these forums. Do not respond and do not give any personal information.

Can you send me a PM with the person's forum name (copy and paste it)  I will report it to Adobe staff.

Thanks. First of all,  I'm getting a new computer becausemine won't support Windows 11, or some apps that I use. I havePS CS4 loaded on the old computer. I am a hobbyist, so I was fishing around for a PS perpetual license and found Adobe is on a subscription system. The company responding to my querey in this forum is Adobe Systems Incorporated, located in Ireland. with an email of adobe_tech@outlook.com. After finding that Adobe gave up the ASI name for Adobe, Inc., a red flag went up,. I only use PS sporadically and can't justify a subscription. I just looked at Affinit which will be good enough for me.

Thanks

Have you tried Photoshop Elements?  https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements/buy-elements.html?sdid=WB99JHFM&mv=search&mv2=paid...
This would be a little brother to PS and works fine for most, it is missing a few tools that PS has.  But would work for you and remember that Bridge is free so that you could use that as we all use LR

LATEST

the outlook.com poser is a known scammer.

adobe (and legitimate resellers) do not offer perpetual licenses anymore (even to photoshop elements).
