Will Adobe Creative Cloud price become less expensive in the future? At the moment $29.99 a month for a year is reasonable price for CC subscription for current suite owners. Once the $29.99 promo ends, I can't afford $49.99 a month once the year is over.

According to what I have read on the site, the price of Adobe Cloud goes up from $19.99/$29.99 to $49.99 per month. After you finish your first year's subscription, the price of Adobe Creative Cloud will adjust upwards.

* Current CS customers save on their first year of Creative Cloud membership.
Instead of paying $239.88/$359.88 per year, you will end up paying $599.88 per year. Before Adobe activated the Cloud services, loyal customers paid a preorder of $600 for indefinite usage. You could have technically skipped three to four years in between software upgrades.
Now, you will pay roughly $600 every year.
Software upgrade use to be released in five year intervals.

I for one will not be buying a subscription. I have a CS6 version that will work for me for now and probably several years. Hopefully, Adobe will come to its senses and realize that a large portion of its market share are freelancers and creatives ("Creative" Cloud, ahem) who don't want to have to choose between groceries and a ridiculously-high monthly fee.

Wait, so if I ordered the $49/mo, it'll automatically increase next year?

More than likely it will continue to increase as the demand and rise of subscribers increases. There has been nothing to show otherwise other than high marks for Adobe. Don't be surprised if $99/mo is seen soon. Other subscriptions out there are easily charging that for Storage alone and software sites that only provide a single license are $149/mo. So Adobe still has plenty of room for increase. Like the others said above, the carrot is being dangled and we are blindly chasing it.

For the time being Adobe cannot increase the upkeep - the number of subscription were down compared to the projected (expected) figures, and Adobe has sent out questionnaires which ask a lot of questions about competitors' video-related products.
With Fusion and Resolve now free for 4K and less resolution, it is understandable that this may have an impact on subscription in that segment. The After Effects team is under pressure to deliver (a rewrite of the core) from node-based competing products (Fusion, Nuke, Natron).
Flash is also becoming more and more marginalized - once king, now a pauper.
Alternatives are appearing on the market (Affinity) that are making headlines, and further complicate matters for Adobe.
Adobe's position is tenuous: the subscription numbers are down, and the market is changing quite rapidly, producing a situation where they cannot increase the subscription pricing, and their hold on their part of the video market is slipping. Only the graphic design market is still their domain - and others are starting to make headway there as well (at least for the non-professional segments of the market, and even somewhat in the professional one as well).
Increasing the subscription costs is the last option on their minds - it would probably send their subscription numbers spiraling down. A number of universities and colleges have already been forced to switch to alternatives due to the high subscription costs (Paris Huit, for example).
Adobe must find other ways to increase the numbers. It must be worrying for the CEOs and the shareholders: it might be the start of a stabilizing (or even downward) trend.
Time will tell.

Thank you for the info on the Affinity beta. It has given me hope for the future.

Ok so they remove valuable features in there products (oil paint) and now they're probably going ask a college student to pay $100 a month for these programs!? Thats completely ridiculous! If I cancel my CC subscription, do I still get to keep the programs on my computer?

The programs will still be on your computer... they just won't open.
I don't think it's going to be $100 any time soon but the thing is you have no control over it in a subscription only model. You can no longer decide to upgrade or not if you disagree with Adobe's new policies. You have to continue to pay every month if you want to open up your own created files. What a deal eh?
With a perpetual license you get to choose if an upgrade is worth it to you or not. So you get to "vote with your wallet". If you don't want to continue that's fine, your perpetual license to the programs still work, you can still open up your files and continue to work as before. You just don't have access to new features.
With CC you are in chains and your complaints don't matter anymore. What are you going to do? Stop paying? Oh wait... you can't. Your programs won't open anymore. *evil laugh*. It's a tough decision to walk away from your own files and move on. Been there, done that, never again will I put myself in such a position. It's like your files are hostages and you are paying to release them... but only for a short time before they are taken hostage again.
I bought into the Creative Cloud nonsense while perpetual licenses were still being offered and there was no talk of going rental only. So I used CC for a year. Most of the files I created in my CC period I can open up in my CS 5.5 version. So it was easier to get rid of these CC chains, but as time goes on even CS6 won't be able to properly open up CC files. CC is great for Adobe, horrible for customers.
Welcome to CC. Keep paying forever.

This should be illegal! Barring the content that THEY created because they may not be able to afford to pay the big A every month, theres got to be SOMETHING illegal about that.
I just don't understand why companies think have to be as greedy and backstabbing as they can possibly be.

no talk of rental sounds pretty epic i belive if your feeling genoures subscription if your like ok ill just get this version boom the subscription would be updated but if you bought the program with a forever lasting license you would have to pay 50 dollars for the updated version i think if adobe did that thet would have such a better and higher name

Huh?
You ever had a look on their business plans:
http://www.adobe.com/investor-relations.html?promoid=JZEFZ
How should that work?
Are you not satisfied with this overwhelming ALREADY existing CashCow offering?
(They want to rise income till 2016 - for the moment they take loses to get enough users in their cloud - the price is simply a gift for you at the moment!!).
So, please let adobe live...
Cheaper? Huh?

Initially the cloud will be cheap (or appear cheap)..... if you look around the world at adobe's pricing the future does not look good..the cloud cost 50% more in europe and up untill quite recently Brazillians were being charged $95 per month (this has now be lowered probably due to outrage)...
the cloud will entice you in...as you become more dependant on it prices will slowly rise untill one day you wake up and realize you're being gouged to hell... with very little competition there is not much stopping them
One of the benifits of owned software was that adobe had to keep prices lower to match the rental rate....you wouldnt pay $2000+ to upgrade but pyschologically you would if you rented it.....
Users in and out of the US are able to complain to the FTC.. here is the direct link... https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/
in the uk complaints can be filed at the office of fair trading (oft)

Yes, CC will become much cheaper because Adobe loves its customers, and will do anything to make their customers' lives happier with excellent free point updates, free bug fixes, and backward file compatibility. They will also provide excellent support, and strive for open and honest communication with their customers.

Adobe Send Ideas@ ! ! subscription fee adjustment
Adobe could convert more would-be part-time users into Adobe customers to fill in a wide gap in Adobe sales. Creative Cloud rates could be based on users’ software usage per month rather than a flat subscription rate for non-corporate customers.
Many users use it occasionally right now but they still need it. They hope to increase their business usage as they get more and more customers, but they truly can’t afford the current subscription rates. the model could be based on an initial-use fee AND a per-day fee, as needed.
To build this model, lets say we start with a $60 per month subscription rate for part-time users (to make the math easier) / 30 days (per month) = roughly $2.00 per day
The initial-use fee could be $2 for initial app use for a particular month.
the per-day fee could be $1, and would kick in with each additional day of use for a particular program.
In other words, a $2 first time per app use per month, and a $1 per day per app use for each additional day of use, with a total dollar cap maxed at the max monthly rate—in this case $60.
Increased usage by the part-time user community should theoretically translate or convert into a professional income, which will make the normal monthly corporate subscription rates (currently $49 per month) more attractive, now that the user is actually seeing income from the use of Adobe’s Creative Cloud. Make sense?
here is the EXAMPLE in action:
Ps is used on day one, which activates the subscription with a $2 initial fee (purchased right in the app with credit card up front--no need for a visit to the Adobe site)---day seven Ai is used incurring a $2 initial fee---day 12 Id and Ai are used for a $2 initial fee for Id and $1 repeat-use fee for Ai---day 19 Ps-Ae-Pr are used for a $2 each initial fee for Ae and Pr and $1 repeat-use fee for Ps---day 25 Ps used for $1 repeat-use fee. on day 30 billing occurs for the total: $13 for the use of Photoshop 3x, Illustrator 2x, InDesign 1x, After Effects 1x, and Premier 1x.
It might look like this on Adobe's subscription page.
NOTE: The Part-Time User rate is not an official Adobe rate. It is used hypothetically, to generate ideas.

Photo Rumors claim that Adobe are looking into different Creative Cloud subsciptions offers. These include the full suite for $29.99 or Photoshop CC for $9.99, both on a 3 year contract. A link to the rumor is below

the problem with this is that Adobe has put me in a position where I cannot trust them anymore.... even if the cloud was $10 a month I wouldnt go for it..
I already own CS6 so where is my incentive?
The reality for many is that...I dont like renting ... every fibre in me tells me that long term its going to cost me a hell of a lot more.. and the fact my projects and files may be at stake... no sorry.. cant do it...
All I want is a perpetual licence ... (we had this option last year)...if adobe cannot provide that then I will look to Avid,FCP,Edius etc

Please consider the Flicker offering, at $ 50 year for for 2 To - yes, 2 terabites!
Not being a professional photographer, the mensual fee is not affordable. I don't think that I will continue to work with Adobe products for long.

After literally decades of using the Adobe creative programs, this move by Adobe has totally destroyed my faith in their integrity.
Regretfully, I will abandon the programs I have used and loved.
I can highly recommend Gimp and Inkscape, which are low cost or free. They are open source and developing to almost match the abilities of Illustrator and Photoshop.
They don't look as slick, granted. However they are continuously developing and will, no doubt, supersede Adobe's flagships.
What a shame. Bad, bad move Adobe.
I teach these programs to students as part of a Desktop Publishing course who will never be able to afford them when they finish their courses. I may now have to start teaching them other alternatives to use.

will, no doubt, supersede Adobe's flagships.
That is highly unlikely given the engineering talent and millions in cash which Adobe invests into their products each year.
What matters is whether Adobe's market share will be dented in any significant way by their wholesale shift to the Cloud.
The jury's out on that one for a few years until we see some solid financial and analytical data from Adobe and commentators. However results to date from the first 12 months are very encouraging for Adobe and the Creative Cloud. Wait and see if the trend continues.
Regardless of which alternatives they try during training (open source and/or proprietary), students will still be expected by employers to be familiar and experienced with Adobe software - when they graduate - for many years to come. Many employers have established and profitable workflows which are still using tried and tested versions ranging from CS to CS6.

I'm really, really, really upset with Adobe, the worst customer care company. After one year of subscription at 29,99€ now i have to pay 49,99€. This is absolutely not convenient, after the rubbery of my account information from hackers and the LOT of bugs that i've had with CC softwares. I've thinked that Adobe will take care of their customer. But the truth is that we are only bank account. Sorry for the harsh word, but this is not the way to take care of customers. For sure, i've a lot of projects that i'm working on and i'll pay the 49,99€ at least for a couple of months. I have a small company...a one man company and with tax and all other thing that i have to pay, 49,99€ is a real phlebotomy.
Great news from Adobe...
