Acrobat DC hangs at Content Preparation Progress when saving a PDF file

I know there have been many posts about this happening when you open a document, and I have the reading preferences set to Only read the currently visible page, and I disabled the accessibility preference enable assistive technology support.  It says please wait while the document is being prepared for...   but nothing after the "for"

This is all that I see after clicking save on a 3 page document, 10 minutes later.
