Acrobat desktop app does open sometimes but only for a few seconds and then a white screen appears with a blue circle swirling around and it just stays there. I have uninstalled acrobat and creative cloud and reinstalled them, restarted my computer, windows is up to date. I do not know what else to do. Can anyone help please.

Is this a new installation? We assume you are getting this screen after launching the application.
Could you please try changing the following settings
Acrobat>Preferences (Ctrl)>Security (Enhanced)>disable "Protected Mode at Start-up", "Protected View," and "Enhanced Security">OK>close and reopen Acrobat [Windows only ]
Check if this doesn't make a difference, and share the following logs with us:
Collect logs when Acrobat/Reader crashes or freezes
