Acrobat fails to install Windows 11 Error code 136

I just bought a new Windows 11 machine and can NOT get Acrobat to instal via Creative Cloud. I had a devil of a time just getting CC to install as it kept claiming I had  other installers running when NONE were running ( confirmed in Task Manager). I was able to get PS and AI installed but Acrobat keeps failing no matter how many times I go into Task Manager and stop anything that looks like an installer. I have also tried rebooting, halting anything that looks like an installer and installing but it always fails at the 26-70% competed rate.

Specs:  Intel i7 14th gen processor 2.10 Ghz

              32 GB RAM

               2TB SSD

              NVIDIA 4070 GTX 12 BG dedicatred video RAM
              Windows 11 Home Buikd 22631.4460

I do understand, I've spent more frustrating time than I am willing to admit dealing with customer service. I am glad your perstance paid off. 


Just FYI I did find a potential culprit for all the "another installer running" conflicts you can get in Windows 11. It was on the iBuyPower support site ( makers of my new PC). It has to do with the Intel ChipSetup App. Basically the steps are as follows:

1: Open Task Manager.
2: Go to Details section of Task Manager
3: Click on Any Process and Press the S key on your Keyboard to move to the S section of active processes
4: Once in the S section , please look for SETUPCHIPSET.EXE ,You will see 3 or 4 of these right next to each other.
5: Right click on any of the SETUPCHIPSET.EXE that you see.
6: Click on Open File Location
7: Go back to Task manager, right click on SETUPCHIPSET.EXE once again, Click on END Process TREE.
You will see a prompt asking what you'd like to do. Click on End process tree again.
 
8: Go back to the Folder that opened when you Clicked on OPEN FILE LOCATION.
Highlight SETUPCHIPSET. Hold Shift + DEL to permanently delete this file.

Not sure it's relevant to this case, but CS6 Design and Web Premium repeatedly failed to install on my replacement PC running Windows 11 Home, with progress stopping at 3% showing "Currently Installing Microsoft_VC80_CRT_x86".

 

I tried 50 different workarounds, re-typing that long license key each time, until I discovered that the product will only install in its default directory on the OS drive - in my case C:/Program Filles/Adobe.

 

Hope this helps somone else.

    I would recommend to get in touch with Adobe's customer support. I understand that this is very likley not your preferred option (I hate to do things like that myself as well), but in this case, it's your best option: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

    Thanks for the reply, but based on prior experience, contacting support isn't helpful at all.  I did finally get Acrobat to install by  installing from my web based account and bypassing the Creative Cloud desk top.   I had tried it before without success and finally on the 4th or 5th attempt at trying this way it worked. Turns out that was a good thing because this morning Creative Cloud refuses to load.
