Question

Acrobat in Edge and Chrome

We have a corporate technical manual library of over 5000 pdf documents with over 1.5 million links and bookmarks that we share with all our employees in SharePoint. The only browser that shows the bookmarks and has working links is Firefox. Is there any extension/patch or other method to get the bookmarks and links to work with Chrome and Edge?

FYI: The files operated properly in IE.

Hi Ross36310927uh2v,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.

Could you please share the screen recording of the steps used to open the PDFs in both browsers? We would also like to see how the file appears when you open it in Firefox. We will check this behavior and update you with more information.

Please also share the Acrobat extension version on all browsers.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Firefox:

Same file in Edge with bookmarks in view. Clicking on VTIL Home Page does not make the link.:

Chrome is about the same. Also, the  properties for this file Initial View are:

but the bookmarks panel does not show automatiically in Edge/Chrome.

Hi @Ross36310927uh2v

The product team wants to replicate the behavior internally, and we would require a couple of files to do so.
If possible, please share some sample files. If you can't share the files publicly, upload files to any cloud drive and share the link via private message. To send a private message, click on the envelope icon in the top right corner.

Also, you can see bookmarks in the Chrome extension, but you stated in the initial post that bookmarks are also not visible? Is that right?

Will be waiting for your response.

Best regards,

For these two files put them in the same folder. For internal links click on anything in either Table of contents to jump to the page (these have no links to external documents). For bookmarks links clcick on "SECTION 11 LIGHTING SYSTEM" or  "SECTION 13 MISCELLANEOUS" in either file.

When I first open any of our PDF files in Chrome or Edge (despite  PDF settings) bookmarks are not appearing. They can be made to appear in Chrome with the extension control.
