Acrobat is displaying square characters instead of text. PDF displays properly in Chrome.

Question

Started noticing this issue a week or 2 ago. Certain pdfs (probably with certain fonts) do not display correctly in Acrobat. Have tested with pdfs that were saved months ago and used to display properly in Acrobat. They also display square characters like this ▯▯▯ instead of text. Just updated Acrobat Pro to version 2024.003.20054 64-bit on Windows 11 and the problem is still occurring. These pdfs open in Chrome & Firefox without any issues. Seems like an issue with the way Acrobat renders the font.

lefevrem12460323 - Please try updating the application to the latest version. In Acrobat, go to Menu > Help > Check for updates. You may refer to the information on the following page: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/adobe-acrobat-and-reader-september-2024-updates-now-available/td-p/14856034.
