Acrobat Pro 23.xx - Open in separate tabs

Hi, how can we open new documents in separate windows (i.e. not tabs) in the new 23.xx interface? Tabs by default makes no sense for our workflows with large monitors.

The previous option under Preferences -> General -> "Open documents as new tabs in the same window (requires relaunch)" is now missing.

Hi @Jared21795854zh7m

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

We acknowledge that the new Acrobat represents a notable change; however, we hope that as you get familiar with the new interface, you can be more productive and get more out of Acrobat.

We are actively working on all the currently unavailable features, such as the option to enable/disable 'Open documents as new tab in same Window' and we will address them with the highest priority. This issue is already reported to our engineering team and is being worked upon. The fix will be available in the future updates.

As you get more comfortable with the new interface, please contact us with specific questions on tools, features, or functionalities. We’re happy to provide helpful resources and answers to your questions.

If your critical workflows are impacted, you can switch to the old UI from the “Menu” on the top left corner of Windows and View Menu on MacOS. We will follow up with a detailed community-featured post, guiding you to familiarise yourself with the new interface and regular updates on upcoming changes.

Thanks for your time and patience

~Amal

I'm not seeing it; could you please post a screenshot?  I'm guessing not all users have this option.

@Jared21795854zh7m

I am able to drag a tab to an area outside of Acrobat (ex. to another monitor) and it creates a new window.
