Acrobat Pro - cannot select text & does not print color

The title says it all. There are two problems
(1) I can no longer select text in PDF. 
(2) I cannot print in color

@dyadiddy You need to select the arrow tool (Select text) as shown here. My text in blue is selected

Can your printer print in color? Some printers are only black and white. For example, my Epson can print either in black or white (grayscale) or in color. Make sure when you go to print, the settings are set-up properly

Color: See the pink box

The selection problem is illustrated in the attached snapshot when I try to select "This". I've also attached the file so you can see if that's the problem.

Yes, my printer prints color from all my devices. Only PDF  fails, and from all devices.

@dyadiddy is this your PDF that you created? If not, the original creator likely placed 'restrictions on the document,' that does not allow you to 'copy content' or 'print'

I guess they want you only to view online? If that is the case, the next best work-around, is take a screenshot of the PDF to print it out?

I can print the document except for the color illustration which appears in black and white. This used to work on the same printer until it didn't.

Would you mind updating the application to the latest version and letting us know if that helps?

 

If not, I have a question. Have you tried using the option "Print as Image" from the Advanced settings? Do you see the same result there? 

 

If yes, please share a few details for further investigation:

1. The app version number you are using;

2. The OS and its version;

3. please collect the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html  and share them via the document cloud link https://helpx.adobe.com/document-cloud/help/sharing-pdfs.html.
