Acrobat Pro DC 2019: Incorrectly rounded CMYK values in Output Preview

Dear community,

after updating to the new version DC 2019.008.20071 me and coworkers (using macOS 10.11 and 10.13) noticed wrong CMYK values in Output Preview:

The numbers somehow always get rounded off and end up being 1% too low. DC 2018 and XI do not show this behaviour.

Examples:

Measurements with Enfocus PitStop Pro 2018, Heidelberger Prinect PDF Toolbox 2018 and Hybrid PACKZ all show 14.8%, 43.9%, 7.9%.

Output Preview in Acrobat DC 2018 and XI Output Preview displays 15%, 44%, 8%.

And now DC 2019:

Output Preview in Acrobat DC 2019.008.20071 displays 14%, 43%, 7%!

So Output Preview in DC 2019 shows incorrctly rounded (off) values!

When using the Object Inspector function the values above are read out as 0.14820, 0.43949, 0.07858 - that's proof for the correct read-out of PitStop, Prinect and PACKZ.

This needs to be fixed ASAP, checking files for correct color builds is hindered and leads to false conclusions and confusion.

Could other members of the forum please check for this behaviour on their systems? Doesn't matter wether PDF/X or untagged PDF, in both cases the displayed CMYK numbers are 1% too low in most cases.

Many thanks in advance!

Thanks for the update. Now updated to the latest version but still experiencing the same issue with the breakdown not appearing correctly compared to InDesign file the PDF was generated from? Can you advise?

Hi peteg70635480 ,

Thanks for the response. Can you please share a sample file where this issue is still reproducible with the Acrobat version (19.008.20074).

You can use Acrobat Share functionality for sharing the file. Refer Share files online with Adobe Acrobat  for more details on sharing an anonymous or public link .

We have noticed the exact same issue on specific brand colour breakdowns. Pre the 2019 DC update they are correct, post update and as per your description values change by 1%. Only occurring in Acrobat as other Adobe products (indd and Illustrator) again display the correct breakdowns as do other workflow tools and applications such as PitStop, TWiST etc.

Needs resolving asap!
