Add a Sender/Pre-Fill Signature Field to a Template within Adobe Acrobat

In Adobe Acrobat, I've created a template with multiple pre-fill fields. However, I don't see the ability to assigned a signature field to myself. I need to sign the document before sending it to my manager for approval. Is there a workaround or something that I'm missing?

When creating or editing the template, I didn't have the option to assign a signature field to myself (i.e., the sender/pre-filler). However, after receiving your response, I updated the template to reassign all of the non-prefill fields to Participant 2 (they were previously assigned to Participant 1). I added a signature field for myself & assigned it to Participant 1. I did not reassign any of the pre-fill fields. As suggested, I added my email address as the first receipient, and I was able to complete the fields that were assigned to pre-fill and also sign the field that was assigned to Participant 1. Participant 2 was able to sign as expected.

Thank you for the response & solution!

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

What happens when you try to assign a signature field to yourself, do you get any error message? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for more clarity.

In the meantime, please try the steps below and see if that works:

  • Open the PDF form in Acrobat or Acrobat Reader. From the global bar in the upper left, select All tools. Then select Request e-signatures.

  • In the dialog that appears, add your email address as the first recipient, followed by other recipients who will be signing the form and Select Specify where to sign.
  • On the page that opens, select a recipient from the Recipients drop-down and then drag-n-drop the signature fields where required for that recipient. Similarly, add signature fields for each recipient.
  • Once done, select Send.

For more info please check the help page https://adobe.ly/42ltrmtl

Let us know if you are referring to something else.
