Add non-English text to form field

I am trying to fill up a PDF form, which requires me to type in my native language (Tamil). So I typed the Tamil text in google's translate box, and pasted it into Acrobat. It pastes as a series of dots and crossed Ls. This is a protected document which will not allow me to edit the document's text etc, but only to fill the form. The form's language itself is English. How can I resolve this?

So to sum up, I cannot add text in my native language when the form is a protected English form. Is that correct?

You must change the font used in this text field.
