Question

Adding text on top of text

I have the newest version of Adobe Acrobat - the non-colorful one released in April 2023 and I cannot figure out how to just add text on top of existing text (ie a form field) in the document. It wants to try to edit the existing text instead of adding new text on top of it. The whole menu is different and this is not self-explanatory. Help!

View>Disable new acrobat, then it will prompt you to restart.

To add form fields use the tool Prepare Form.

Hello, I'm not trying to add form fields. I'm trying to add text to a PDF document anywhere on the document.

Hi @Centennial Co27591735je8h

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the trouble.

Please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/new-acrobat-experience.html for more information about the new UI and see if that works for you.

Regards

Amal

You're joking right? This is the response to that simple question - FIGURE IT OUT FOR YOURSELF? Why did you even respond?

Love this comment.  It's spot-on.

I wish there was something besides Adobe. It has always seemed exceptionally overcomplicated and routinely has number of issues without answers. Adobe in 2025 is akin to a TRS-80.
