Adobe Acrobat Crash Dump for Windows 10 (multiple processes spawned but pdf would not open)

Hello! I had Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and Adobe Pro DC installed together on my work Windows 10 machine. At some point recently - maybe a week or so ago - both programs stopped opening pdf files. I could see the processes being created in process explorer but none of them would open pdf files.

Today, I ran the AcroMon software to collect log info and then uninstalled DC. I'm providing a screenshot of the crash damp that AcroMon generated. I can't attach the actual crash dumps but can provide them if needed.

Could someone please look into this? I searched the forums and the multiple process issue came up several times. The processes just got spawned but files never opened.

Hello!

Thank you for reaching out and sorry for the trouble.

As the application is not opening PDFs, please use the cleaner tool (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html#windows) to remove both the applications from the machine.

Then reboot the machine and install Acrobat Pro DC from this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/download-install-acrobat-subscription.html.

Then check if you can open the PDF without any issues or not.

Try installing Reader DC from this link: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Let us know if the issue still occurs.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
