Adobe Acrobat DC crashing after changing font preferences

My laptop died last week and a new one was built with Windows 11.  I logged into Adobe and install the DC (not pro).  Been using it all week for various functions, today was doing expense reports that actually get text boxes added.  After I did the first text box, I was reminded that I had a preference set to Arial 12pt.  Went into preferences, made the change and it crashed immediately.  Closed & opened the program, tested other docs that worked just beforehand.  Restarted computer.  Uninstall adobe. Restarted computer.  Installed adobe, test failed, restarted computer, test failed on all docs.

The only thing I did was change the font preferences.

Please advise.

The cleaner didn't work for me without intervention.  I ended up calling Adobe and shared my system with the technician who did use the cleaner and reinstalled from what appeared to be a back-end file rather than an app download.  It is working properly now and I even set my preferences before disengaging with the tech.

Is it possible that you have a corrupt font on your computer?

A "normal" uninstall of Acrobat leaves some information behind, so a new install after that is not really "new". The Adobe Cleaner however removes everything: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html - that's my #1 solution for anything that survives a normal re-install. If the problem is however outside of Acrobat (e.g. the corrupt font), then this will not help.

Thanks for reporting back. I am glad that you are up and running again. And as I suspected, cleaner was part of the solution. Adobe staff has access to information that we as the general public dont have, so sometimes it is necessary to get in touch with Adobe's customer service.
