Hello,

Recently when I try to export a PDF document to Excel or Word, Adobe Acrobat frezzes. I get the screen stopped, and then I have to close the application. I'm working with a computar with Windows 10. I already uninstalled and installed the program but the problem persists. I do not know what's going on, could anyone help?

Thank You Very Much!

Correct answer Karl Heinz Kremer

I utilize the export from pdf to Word quite frequently and as of last week I started experiencing the same issue Diogo describes.  I'm using Acrobat Adobe Pro v9.0.0 and Word 2013.

Acrobat 9 is very old, and no longer supported. More importantly, if you are running 9.0.0, you don't have any of the updates installed. Try to update to the latest released version (which is 9.5.5), and see if that fixes your problem. It is also possible, that your operating system, or your Windows version got updated when Acrobat stopped to work, and that these installed updates are not compatible with your version of Acrobat anymore.

As per the issue description mentioned above, Acrobat freezes when trying to export pdf to excel or word, is that correct?

Yes it is correct!

Please try following troubleshooting steps:

1 - I just did and the problem continues.

2 - Allready uninstalled and reinstalled the program. Nothing changed. Allready update the Acrobat.

3 - I just did and the problem continues.
4 - I just did and the problem continues.

Does this happen with this specific pdf file only? Have you tried exporting other pdf files?

This happen with all kind of PDFs

Also, let us know dot version of Acrobat installed on the machine?

Hi Diogo Ressurreição,

Could you try disabling Protected View / Enhanced security by clicking Edit menu > Preferences > Security (Enhanced) > select Off under Protected View > uncheck the box next to enhanced security > click OK. Relaunch Acrobat and try exporting the files again.

Note: Disabling protected view/ Enhanced security is for troubleshooting purpose only, and not recommended. Please turn the feature back on after troubleshooting is complete.

If issue still persists, try replicating the issue in a new user account by clicking on the Start button then select Settings  > Accounts  > Family & other people > Add someone else to this PC, login into that account, launch Acrobat from there and check.

Please try following troubleshooting steps:

1- Reboot the machine once if you haven't already and check if that helps.

2- Check if an update is available for Acrobat using "Check for updates" option under "Help" menu, reboot the machine after installing update and try again.

3-  Launch Acrobat as an administrator and try exporting files again-  Run an Adobe program as administrator | Windows 7, Vista

4- If issue still persists, try resetting preferences for Acrobat using the steps given in this link: How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default. reboot the machine after resetting preferences and try again.
