Adobe Acrobat NOT working on Windows 11

Lately Adobe Acrobat is not working on Windows 11. When opening the application it displays a white screen then closes. I have tried running it in compatibility mode as well as running it as an administrator. This did not help. Before this issue, It opened and wanted to run through the tour every time i opened a PDF. Also, every time I open the application I get the Windows pop-up that requests permissions for the app to make changes. This is concerning to me that an established suite of applications from Adobe have so many issues lately.

Hi,

I found this thread by having the same issue as @Martin353954258orf. I have the lastest, updated version of Adobe Acrobat. I have the latest, updated version of W11, and think that it may have arisen the issue, as it was working very well until that update. Specific issue is - Whenever I try to open Adobe Acrobat either by clicking the executable icon or by double clicking any PDF file, it doesn't open and some minutes later I get an error message "Another instance of Adobe Acrobat is open / Buttons Learn More & Close".

Before looking for solutions, I closed all running processes pressing "Windows+Shift+4". Then I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat from Windows. Then I use the AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.exe. Then I restarted the computer and re-installed Adobe Acrobat. Same problem from scratch. The I repeated the steps and finally re-installed Adobe Reader. Problem keeps.

Can anybody share another possible solution?

Please help us gather the logs from your machine: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-diagnostics.html. Please make sure Procmon is selected. You can upload logs using this tool and share your Unique log ID with us.

Also, to test, can you try the below steps:

Right-click on the app icon, go to Properties, select compatibility, check the box saying "Run this app in compatibility mode," select Windows 8, apply, and click OK.

Now try running the application.

Hi @Martin353954258orf,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat!

Would you mind sharing a few details for further investigation:

1. The app version of Acrobat you are using (go to Control Panel-> Program & Features-> Acrobat);

2. A screen recording video of the event for better understanding (you can use the snip tool to do so, press "Windows+Shift+4").

3. Please help us gather the logs from your machine: https://adobe.ly/479uTcz. Please make sure Procmon is selected. You can upload logs using this tool and share your Unique log ID with us.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi

Thank you for your response.

I eventually resolved the issue by makibg use of the removal tool i found on another post in the community, namely at https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html.

I then downloaded the instller from : https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

After I removed Adobe Acrobat from my system with the removal tool, I restarted the computer and re-installed Adobe Acrobat from the above download. This resolved the issue and Adobe Acrobat opens and are displaying the PDF files.

Thank you.
