I use the reduce file size on a daily basis. About 3/4 of the time that I open a document and attempt to reduce the file size, it tells me it can't reduce the file anymore, even though it has never been reduced. I have to close Adobe Acrobat at least once, sometimes twice for the fil size reduction to actually work. I understand there is a limit and it cannot be shrunk beyond it's limit, however, I'm having issues getting it to work at all on the first attempt. I can't seem to figure out what causes this.

Thank you for reaching out.
To reduce the PDF file, please refer to the information provided in the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/optimizing-pdfs-acrobat-pro.html.
If the issue still occurs, share the screen recording with us. Also, share the Acrobat and OS version numbers.
Try reducing the file size on the Acrobat Online account. Open the link https://acrobat.adobe.com/ and sign in with your Adobe credentials. Then go to the Convert tab and select the reduce file size option.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

This response was very unhelpful. I am fully aware of how to reduce file sizes in Adobe Acrobat and do not need instructions. I thought my post was fairly clear about what the issue was, but I guess not. My Adobe software gets updated regularly and the problem has persisted for as long as I can remember.
See software configuration below:

So I posted a screen share and the details as you suggested and now no one seems to have an answer. Did I find a software bug then? Any solutions?
