Question

Adobe DC slow to open file through File Explorer(network) or local

Adobe DC hangs up opening files through Windows 10 File Explorer andfrom Local Disk C:.

Opening through the Adobe DC >Open>Pathway for file (network or local) it is blazing fast.

I tried all settings you can find in the community boards, Enhanced security, cleared appdata, etc, etc.

I tested on a new Windows 10 user signing in with my info. It worked blazing fast both ways.

I am sensing something is corrupted with the specific desktop user but can find no issues.

Can anyone help?

Hi Jose

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, Adobe DC hangs up opening files through Windows 10 File Explorer and from Local Disk C.

As you have mentioned that its working fast (as expected) in the new test user profile on Windows, it seems to be some user profile issue. Please try to repair the user profile in which you are experiencing the issue as described here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile-in-windows-1cf41c18-7ce3-12f9-8e1d-95896661c5c9 and check.

Regards

Amal

Amal,

It has been a month and Adobe has done nothing to help me. I have solved the issue myself and it is a HUGE FAILURE on Adobe's end.

The delay in opening PDFs in Adobe DC(full suite of prgrams) was the existence of a residual folder from Adobe Acrobat PRO 11.0 on the C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe that was supposed to have been removed completely during the uninstall and the use of all the adobe uninstallers and registry cleaners. I manually deleted and in my excitement I forgot to take a screenshot.

Now all PDFs open lightning fast.

Adobe DC was referencing something in that folder whilst trying to open a PDF.
