Adobe Link Not Bringing Over All Existing/Thread Comments in Web Version

Whenever I create an Adobe Link, if the PDF already has comments that have responses/threads, it never transfers over all the comments in the web version. It only brings over the source/original comment.

Any way of correcting this?

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Would you mind sharing more details about the issue you are experiencing, what is the workflow/steps you are taking? A small video recording of the steps and the issue as it occurs would be very helpful for more clarity.

Also make sure the Acrobat app is updated to the latest version 25.01.2043X from the Help Menu > check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Let us know how it goes

Hi Amal,
Sure thing. Here are details on my process:

  • I will receive a markup that I open in the Adobe Acrobat desktop app.
    • Here, I clean up the file to remove any of the old or no longer needed comments.
    • All of the comments I receive are locked – so I unlock any I want to delete and keep locked the one's I plan to share
    • Some of the comments will have a "thread" so there are multiple comments under one source comment
  • Then, in the desktop app, I click "share" to generate an Adobe Link for my team to see and comment at the same time.
  • I copy the Adobe Link into a browser window, and that is when I see that not all the comments are ported over.
    • Particularly comments with threads – only the "original/main" comment will go through
    • Confirming I wait to send or open the link until things are "synced"

Attached is what I see (Desktop App vs. Adobe Link)
