All layers printing when only some are selected!

When I select only a few layers on a page, I can see the layers being removed as I do it. I print the page and ALL the layers print. I look at the pages tool and it still shows all the layers, even though on the main screen it shows that I only have a few selected. I need to be able to print only selected layers. I've tried restarting my pc. I have signed in and out. I have gone back to the Adobe acrobat before the update. This is happening in multiple files.

Hi puremystyc,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Could you please share the following information to investigate the issue.

1) Please share the version of Acrobat you are using. You can check by following the below steps:

Help (left top panel) > About Adobe Acrobat Pro

Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 (Classic) Version 2020.005.30514
2) Has the problem started happening recently, or has it been going on for a while.

I noticed the problem yesterday. I last used it successfully a week ago.
3) Are you on a Windows or Mac machine, and which OS are you using.

Windows 11 Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.2134)
4) Is the issue happening with every PDF file or with some PDF files. Please share some PDF files.

I have tried to print sewing patterns from 2 different vendors and experienced the problem with both.
5) Is the issue happening every time, or is it happening intermittently?

Happens every time
6) It will be great if you provide a video of the bug that’s happening at their end.

No video available
7) Please go through the layer properties and check what is selected in the Print option. Make it prints when visible.

Checked Layer Properties and it is set to "Prints when visible"

The print dialog box "print preview" shows only the single layer that I want to print

not getting layers for sewing patterns. Trying for 3 weeks to solve problem. I see others having same issue. Do I need to upgrade Adobe or not

I help with an independent sewing pattern company that relies heavily on customer's ability to use layers to print just their individual sizes. I hope you prioritize fixing this issue. I see the daily frustration it's causing and wish there was a resolution.

This is also happening in my Adobe Acrobat Reader (64-bit) current version (because I checked for updates).

I selected two layers, but all layers printed.

ETA: Windows 11 current version. This is pretty recent; the last time I selected layers was a few years ago.

This problem is all over every sewing group on Facebook that I am on. Adobe needs to support the women business owners that are making PDF sewing patterns and FIX THIS. Please.

Strongly agree  This was so easy before Adobe "improvements". So frustrating and disappointing. Wasting a lot of time and toner.

I have had this exact same issue trying to print a sewing pattern - I selected one layer and then all layers printed. Never had this problem before so think it must be due to the new update. I deselected the 'save toner' option as suggested below which fixed the issue. Hope they fix the bug soon.

Thanks for the update.

Could you please share the observation when save Ink/Toner is checked and when it is unchecked.

I have the same issue also this morning, worked just fine a few weeks ago.  I tried to get help from the chat box they provide for support and wasn't able to get anywhere.  Very frustrated as well.

I have the same problems.  The screen shows just one layer, but prints all layers.  I went to properties, but it is grayed out.  This is an adobe sewing pattern I have used numerous times and always worked until just recently.  The "fix" you listed does not work  The properties (all grayed) is Visible when on, printes when visible,Adobe Illustrator 26.0

I have the exact same problem with all my sewing patterns now since Acrobat updated itself. It prints all layers now regardless of how many I have selected. VERY frustrating.

Layers have separate visibility properties for appearing on screen and on a print-out.

The fact they appear on screen does not mean they will be printed, or vice versa.

You can see those settings if you open a layer's Properties dialog:
