Appearance tab for form field properties

I have a problem with the Appearance tab for form field properties: both border and fill colour of the interactive text field remain visible, even when i change to 'transparent' (with a red cross line) or 'white' (check screendump attached).

I need to make a pdf in english, with interactive text forms where different countries can type the translation into their own language. These translated text boxes need to look similar to the english text: black on (mostly) white background. Does anybody have the solution?! 😉

It's only visible in Prepare Form mode. When you exit it and return to the normal viewing mode, it should disappear.

If you can see a light shade when existing the edit mode make sure that Fields Highlighting is disabled.
