Bulk add Bates numbers base on specific characters in the file name

We are trying to add bates numbers using a phrase from the file but would like to do it in bulk. Currently doing them one by one in adobe. 

We have to add bates numbers to a lot of pdfs but it has to include a phrase from the file name
ex: 
File names =
D4.record for bob

P1. upload 343

5. one way files 

We have to include the first phase before the period. 
This is the code we use to ADD bates manually, we have to add, not replace 
<<Bates Number#3#1#"Dxx"->>
<<Bates Number#3#1#"Pxx"->>

written example 
<<Bates Number#3#1#D4->>

You can't use the Add Bates Numbers dynamically like that. However, it is possible to write a (custom-made) script that will achieve something similar by adding the text as a part of a text field, a comment or even a watermark.
