I am need to access a turbotax .tax file for a for a return that is over 10 years old.  I don't have the old turbotax software for the year in question.  I was wondering if I would be able to successfully convert a .tax file to a .pdf file in order to view the tax return in question.  Thanks

I will confirm that there is no feature in Acrobat that is cognizant of the TurboTax .tax format and capable of creating a PDF file from same. I would echo the sentiment that at best you might be able to open such old files in a current version of TurboTax and create a PDF file from there (either directly if the application supports that or by printing to the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance on Windows or using the PDF save option from the MacOS print dialog).

Hi Kevin,

I’d say probably not.

Have you tried to open this document with a current version of TurboTax? If that doesn’t work you might consider contacting the TurboTax company, I have a hunch that your not the first person with this dilemma.

Sorry, wish I had better news.
