Can not close text call out or other edit functions

Question

After thre recent update that changed the UI, I have been having trouble escaping out of text call out.

Before i would be able to swiftly exit out of text callout to drag function by simply pushing the ESC key. Now, it will not even let me exit out the text function. If I try to click outside the text call out box then it will simply create a new one even after I push the esc key. I will have to manually click on the pan or drag button on the side tool to maybe exit but sometimes that doesnt work out as well. I make a lot of red lines and this has been making the whole process very time consuming.

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

In the Comment tools, select the tool you want to use (but don’t use it yet).

De-Select the 'Use the same tool until it's unselected' icon .

As described in the help page Use annotation and drawing markup tools to add comments in PDFs, Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader and see if that works.

Let us know if you are referring to something else.

something similar happens to other commenting tools as well, and there's literally no way to quit.  I just used the callout tool, then the line tool, if I press the shift key to draw a horizontal line, for example, it will stuck in the robber band and won't let me finish the line.  I dont' know if the above solution works, I will try it after I abandon my work and restart acrobat.  I don't understand why this is even allowed to happen to totally normal operations, and for years now? You are Adobe for god's sake.
