Can't Convert PRN file to PDF

Hello,

I have Acrobat Professional 2017.  I have a system that generates .PRN files (print to file option, no print to PDF available).  I believe I should be able to use Create From File to generate a formatted PDF from the the postscript file but I just keep getting the same error.

Log File States the following

%%[ Error: syntaxerror; OffendingCommand: ) ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

Error message just states "Could not create PDF from *file location* see log for details.

Tried multiple ways to generate a variety of PRN files but nothing seems to work.  Note, a co-worker gets the exact same error.

Any advice or solutions?

How does you create the .prn files?

What operating system does you use?

I've done it multiple ways from various OS, various applications.  Using Print to file, with a HP printer selected.  Using Example, used Windows 10 and Word to generate one.  Used Windows 10 and Notepad++ to create another, and main use case is generated from a Mainframe application.

Why doesn't you use the printer "Adobe PDF" ?
