Can't copy paste the text from Pdf?

Hi,

I would like to copy the text from a pdf (Telugu Language) to word but getting empty square boxes.I have tried to convert the pdf to word but got some random signs.Here are the screenshots..

Please help !

I would simply assume that the character set is not matching. I have the same for Chinese, when selecting the wrong font.

Which application was used to create the original document?  That's the app you should be using.   PDF is a final output format.
