Can't use numbers in text boxes

Please help! 

 

I am currently editing a PDF and have added in text boxes to type in client information. The issue I'm having is everytime I try to type in a number it comes out it another language or as symbols. 

No idea what I am doing wrong, but I'm sure there is a fix for this.

    Something to try: Go to Edit (or the Acrobat app menu if you're on a Mac) - Preferences - Language and make sure that "Hindi digits" is not ticked.

      Thank you so much for this - I had the same issue and had been tearing my hair out - would never have thought to look at the languages preferences!
