Change between greyed out File Name and Title of document on fillable form

EDIT: Just in case anyone else stumbles upon this issue and finds this post. Sorry to say it really is just an issue with the producer of the form. There is nothing that can be done aside from hoping they fix it in a future update.

I'm using Adobe Acrobat DC.

The industry I'm in just received a new fillable form that we all must use from Feb 21 onward. The problem is that the organization who published the form to use did not select ‘File Name’ under the Properties > Initial view setting. Every time I open or save a document, the top bar always reads the Document title. It has already caused some confusion when we’re working on several forms at once and they all read the same at the top of the Adobe box. When I go to the Initial View setting for myself it’s all greyed out, so I’m unable to fix the problem.

I’ve tried doing ‘Save a copy’ on the original form. Same issue.

I’ve already contacted our middle-man to contact the organization, who previously acknowledged the new forms usually have some bugs needed to be worked out, but all he could do is pass on the information. Currently we are waiting to see if the organization will eventually distribute a new form with the setting changed, but knowing them, it could take months, if at all. I’ve searched across the internet for any solution that isn’t a dead end, ‘The publisher of the form must resolve this’, answer. I’m prepared for that to be the answer here, but without finding a thread specific to my issue I had to post here to be positive there was nothing I could do.

Hi ReeSmith,

As I understand, you are referring that the PDF shows the document title not the file name when opened in the application.

If that is correct and the option to change the setting is gryed out, then it seems that the document is secured. That may be the reason you are not able to make the changes even after saving a copy of the PDF.

In this case, you need to ask the sendoed of the document to make the changes.

Would you mind sharing the document with us so we can check in on our end to confirm the same?

You can share the PDF with us with the help of the steps provided here https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7161

Unfourtunatly I can not share the document with you for legal and privacy reasons. I do suspect you're right though about the whole thing being secure and me being unable to do anything to change that. I think I will just take that as it is and hope the producer of the form updates it.
