I just changed computers and noticed a new problem when printing from MS Word to PDF using Adobe PDF printer. Any characters in the Word file name after the last full stop/period are lost. E.g. in this screen shot the full file name is Test.Document_Ver.A, but when it prints the suggested file name drops the .A. I can manually type it in, but it's just annoying because all of my work documents are version controlled with a .X on the end. It has never been a problem before. Doesn't happen in other software, just Word. I can't find an option anywhere in Word, or the printer set up, or Adobe to deal with this. Thanks.

Thanks, I'm using the latest version. And today, the problem is gone after
changing nothing. Cheers.

Hi Rowanc
Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, characters after dot/period in file name disappear when printing PDF from MS Word.
What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version of the application go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 21.07.20099 installed.
Also try to create the PDF using the Acrobat ribbon in the MS Word tool bar and see if that helps. For more information about creating PDF from MS Word please check the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/how-to/create-pdf-files-word-excel-website.html
Also, you may try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there and check.
Regards
Amal
