Question

Checkbox Show/Hide Object

Hey guys. I guess I'm not looking at the right articles or videos to solve this.

I've built this form as a test in INDD & gave the checkbox a function where, when selected, a white overlay box (setup as a button in INDD) disappears, revealing the copy & form fields underneath.

I'd like to be able for that white overlay to appear again when the checkbox is unchecked. How do I do that?

The form fields are also "Hidden Until Triggered" so that they're not active while hidden under that overlay.

The built-in Show/Hide action is a one way ticket. But, as JR states, it can be used creatively to provide a simple show/hide solution. If this is as complicated as you want, then use it. This method has the best compatibility with non-Acrobat PDF viewers.

If you need a more complex show/hide strategy, then Read this article:

See attachment.

Of course, you can superimpose the two checkboxes so that the user only sees one.

Otherwise you must use JavaScript.

We were trying to avoid a 2-checkbox approach if it were possible.

We're up for using JS. Just haven't found the best script for this one yet.
