CMYK, not RGB

I work for a print management company, who heavily relies on Adobe Pro so I can check the artwork before I send it on to print.

 

Previously whenever I clicked on "Print Production" and then "Output Preview" it would show me the colour breakdowns in CMYK, which is perfect as that is what we use in the industry.

 

However, I got a new laptop so had to reinstall Adobe and now it only shows the colour seperations as RGB. 

 

Is there an easy way to change this setting?

    This depends on the simulation profile, which you have set to Adobe RGB. You should use the CMYK profile for your specific output device/supplied by your print service. Don't use a generic CMYK profiile. Compare on your old computer, if available.

    Hi,

    We have similar issue. We also use Acrobar Pro for prepress PDF control, and I cannot get proper separation preview, it's locked into RGB  (spot colors are listed OK, but CMYK is not).

    I tried to change the Working spaces in Color setup, but any choosen option from the dropdownlist always defaults back to sRGB.

    We had several reinstalls (mainly due to oft crashing), but somehow we cannot get back the proper CMYK handling. We have even done registry cleaning before installing, but always getting back this frustrating bug (?)

     

    Any suggestions?

      Unfortunately my old laptop was recycled so I can not look at previous profiles.

       

      Not sure what you mean regarding simulation profiles?  

       

      We don't print the PDF's, we simply view them, edit them, check them etc, which we then send onto industrial print companies to then print.  Everything I assume is currently set to default as we had to reinstall Adobe when I got the new laptop.  I just want to be able to see the colour seperations in CMYK and not RGB.

      See your screen shot:

      Get the appropriate CMYK profiles from your printing companies. Use instead of Adobe RGB.
