Comments from MS Word Markup Show in DC Pro

New Here ,

Hi -

I am saving a MS Word document with "no markup" and then saving it as a PDF. If the PDF is opened in Pro, the comments display. If the PDF is opened in Reader, the comments don't display. Is there any way to not have the comments show in Pro?

With thanks,

Allison

When you save a Word document as a PDF and choose the "no markup" option, the comments should not be included in the PDF when it is opened in either Pro or Reader. It's possible that the comments are still being displayed in Pro due to a problem with the PDF file itself, or with the version of Pro that you are using.

Here are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Check the version of Pro that you are using. The "no markup" option may not work as expected in older versions of the software. If you are using an older version, you may want to consider upgrading to the latest version to see if this resolves the issue.

  2. Try creating a new PDF file from the Word document. To do this, open the Word document, go to the "File" menu, and select "Export." Choose the "Create PDF/XPS" option, and then select the "PDF" option. In the "Options" section, make sure that the "Include Document Content and No Markup" option is selected. Save the PDF file and see if the comments are still being displayed in Pro.

  3. If the issue persists, you may want to try repairing the PDF file. To do this, you can use a tool like Adobe Acrobat Pro or a free online PDF repair tool. These tools can help fix any corruption or damage in the PDF file that may be causing the comments to be displayed in Pro.

Thank you for the recommendations! I was going to File > Save As Adobe PDF from the MS Word doc. That option shows in the left hand menu below the "Save As" option. When I went to File > Save As and then selected PDF as the file type and saved it, I can open the PDF in Pro or Reader and the comments do not display. Appreciate the assist! 🙂
