Copy/paste multi-line links from pdf to address bar not working

When I copy/paste text of a multi-line URL from a pdf into a browser address bar the link no longer works. I know that space is being inserted in the url where the lines break in the pdf even if I have not inserted soft returns and the lines are breaking naturally. On the web page that pops up when I copy/paste the links I get the message

Bad Message 400

reason: Illegal character SPACE=' '

This is only occurring with some of the multi-line URLS and not all of them. I've also made them into hyperlinks which work correctly but my client also need them have the capability to be copy and pasted. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Thanks!

Do you have an example and how where those PDFs in question created initially?

Unfortunately because the links are specific to a client I'm not allowed to share and I can't seem to easily replicate the problem with public links I've tried so I can't easily demonstrate. The pdf is exported from an InDesign document. I've created the hyperlinks in InDesign and then exported the pdf with hyperlinks checked. The links themselves work in the pdf...it's just that selecting the text, copy and paste that doesn't work. If I examine the text when it's highlighted, it looks like an extra space (or return space) is added where the lines break but those extra spaces cannot be deleted.

Try to create a sample with a link to this thread. It's URL is quite long.
