Question

Correct way to make form read-only except for signature

Hello,

I use a form to send job quotes to customers. When the customer receives and opens the form in Acrobat Reader they can make changes to the job quote (not good).

What is the correct way to make the entire form read-only, except for adding a signature, when sending forms for signature?

Hi,

Easiest way I can think of doing this would be to flatten the PDF and then add a signature field to the new PDF.

you can flatten using the preflight tool

Then just open and place a new signature field on the flattened form, ( might want to save as before you start so you can adjust the quote and such)

They don't seem to want to sign the file... If it's only going to be used in Reader then just flattening it is more than enough.
