Create a form that people with Adobe Reader only can print data only to pre-printed forms.

I know it can be done, I have one created by someone else, but they used OmniForm. I don't want to buy OmniForm--or anything else--unless I have to because I've paid for the full version of Adobe Acrobat DC. It doesn't make sense that some other company can make a form do something that the originator of the PDF can't. Why would someone have to buy a full version of Acrobat just to print data to a pre-printed form?

It can be done with Acrobat, but it's a bit tricky.

Basically you need to place all of the contents of your file on a non-printable layer. Then the user will be able to print just the form fields onto the pre-printed pages.

Because Some people will pay for it, even if you won't. Seems simple enough.

I get the concept, but I don't see any option for importing a layer--it's not even a greyed out option. I even tried with a new, blank pdf just to see how to import a file as a layer, but importing something as a layer isn't an option.

I don't have this option Acrobat. The drop down menu I get is this:

Which is missing the key choice "Import as Layer". If could figure out how to get the Import As Layer option to appear, I'd be home free.

- What exact version of Acrobat are you using (look under Help - About Adobe Acrobat)?

- What's your OS?

- How did you create this file?

I'm using Acrobat DC (Classic) 2015.006.30306 on Windows 10 (just updated with the Creators Update). I created a new, blank PDF using Acrobat.

Why would someone have to buy a full version of Acrobat just to print data to a pre-printed form?

There are many other features in Acrobat Pro.
