Cursor Placement Not Where Expected When Adding Text

We scanned a document from one of our copiers to a PDF file.  We are trying to use the Add Text tool to insert some text.  When we click in the PDF file where we want to place the text, the insertion point gets placed a few lines above the location where we clicked.  The issue is happening in Acrobat Pro 2023.001.20143.  An older version of the software does not have this issue.  Any suggestions?

I found a solution that has been working for me this morning.

Once I open the edit PDF tool and click add text the default font is "minion pro". Using this font causes the curor to land about an inch above where I selected on the scanned document. I changed the font and the cusor lands where selected. I have tried a bunch of other fonts and they all seem to be working without the glitch. I then went to edit/preferences/content editing and selected a specific font for "Default font for AddText" instead of "let acrobat choose". Acrobat always chose "minion pro" font in my program.   It now working correctly again, for now. Jim

I can verify that this solution does work. It also keeps you from having to recognize the entire document before editing (which happens when using lindap51895 solution).

We can recreate the issue on every scanned file from multiple copiers that scan to PDF.  We have a mix of Windows 11 22H2, Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 10 21H2 in use.  The issue occurs consistently on any computer with Acrobat Pro 2023.001.20143.  Multiple computers with Acrobat Pro 2022.003.20322 works as it should.  I included a screenshot of a PDF that shows the mouse position when I clicked to "add text" and the actual placement of the insertion point after clicking.

Hi defaultccr8vgm14bqh,

Thank you for the details.

We tried reproducing the behaviour at our end, it works fine.

Would you mind sharing the file with us where you are observing this behaviour.

Thanks,

Same thing is happening to me, I add text to PDF documents on a daily basis and today is the first time I've had this issue.

Go to View - Show/Hide - Rulers&Grids and tick off "Snap to Grid".

I verified that "Snap to Grid" is not enabled.
