Displaying FILE NAME in a multi-page pdf

I'm using Acrobat Pro DC on the Mac. I am creating a multi-page pdf from a bunch of jpgs. It is a photo contest, so we need to have the file name next to (on top, bottom or on, it doesn't matter) the photos. The pdf will then be online, so there is that. Anybody know how to do this?

You'll find a Free tool for adding file names to every page in a PDF here:

https://acrobatusers.com/actions-exchange

Look down the list for the "File Name Stamper"

That "File Name Stamper" is an Action script written for (I think) Acrobat X. Things have changed since then and there are updates. Quite a few new features have also been added. It's also not free anymore.

I've also done several custom updates to the tool. Let me know if you are interested.

You can select all your image files, clic and drag them to Acrobat's icon, then clic OK to create one PDF file.

This will create a PDF where thumbnail names matches files name .

I did this but I can’t see the file name anywhere. Where can I see the file name?

When you create the file use the Combine Files into a Single PDF command and make sure to enable the option to add bookmarks to the combined file. Then you could use a script to copy those bookmarks to the actual pages. For example, you could use this (paid-for) tool I've developed for that purpose: http://try67.blogspot.com/2009/03/acrobat-add-bookmarks-namesnumbers-to.html

There has to be an easy (and free!) way to do this. It would be ridiculous if there weren't.

You can create a script for this.
