I’m trying to create a link to an email in Acrobat. I have used mailto://xxx@gmail.com and mailto:xxxx@gmail.com and both with my icloud address. All it does is open the main Google webpage.

I have done the following:

  1. Edit>Link>Add or edit a link>appearance (decorate link)>actions>execute a menu item>actions – open a web link – mailto:me@gmail.com.
  2. Prepare a form>Button>Action>Select action – Submit a form

Mailto: will open the default e-mail handler for your system. If that is Gmail, they will open Gmail, which is probably a disguised Chrome browser.

I am having the exact same problem, whether I edit the link as an URL or email. All it does is take me to Chrome. WTH? It was working months ago...now, my resume is kinda useless, without a clickable email address.
