Question

Email no longer creating when submitting form

One of the companies that my company works for has a pdf form that has fillable fields and at the end we hit a submit button, which then creates a draft email with all of the data in a .xml file.

Over the last few years many of our workers have noted that it stops working for them and it has finally happened for me. I have tried multiple email clients as a default client to send the emails, aswell as using older versions of the clients and older versions of adobe.

Nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this issue?

Thanks in advance

Hi

We would need some more information to help you better.

What application (Acrobat or Reader) are you using to submit the form and which OS are you using?

How is the email being sent? Is it using some Javascript on Submit button or some other mechanism?

Thanks

Using Acrobat Reader, the submit button just creates the email in your default program and then you can send. Using Windows and as said previously have never had any issues. It just stopped working one day

Hi

Can you please share a sample form after removing any sensitive information to reproduce this issue?

Thanks

Tanvi

What happens when you click the button, then?

Can you share the file with us?

Unable to share the form as it has some private information on it, when you press the submit button the form "locks" so it cannot be edited and doesn't create the draft email that it used too. You can re-submit the form as many times as you like but you cant make any changes to the information in the form.

Are there any error messages in the JS Console? Do you have an email account set up in the application, under Preferences - Email Accounts?

Without seeing the actual file it's hard to help you further with this, I'm afraid. Can you maybe set up a demo file without all the private info, but with the same issue?
