Exporting fields from fillable pdf into other pdfs

I am interested in creating a fillable PDF, having someone enter data in that PDF, and then exporting their data from that PDF to automatically fill fields in multiple other fillable PDFs. I.e., I only want someone to complete one PDF ...but... I have several that I need to complete behind the scenes and I don't want to rekey all their data. What tool(s) and steps are required to do this? I am hoping there is a straightforward process and/or existing tool. I appreciate any insights you have. Thanks!

In Acrobat you can easily export the data to an FDF or text file and then import it in the target file (Tools - Prepare Forms - Export Form Data/Import Form Data), but doing it automatically is a much more complicated process, and will require the development of a custom-made tool. You'll also need to install this tool on the local machine of each user, most likely.

Thank you. Follow-up question: Do all the data from an FDF need to have a destination in the target file or will only matching fields be filled in the target? In other words, if the FDF includes 100 fields but the target only shares 10 of those fields, is that okay?

Yes, that's fine. It will populate those 10 fields and ignore the rest.
