Exporting PDFs (with handwriting) to PPT

Try exporting PDF to PPT with Adobe Acrobat Pro instead of Acrobat Reader Standard. Open your PDF with Acrobat Pro and go to "Tools" > "Export PDF" > "Microsoft PowerPoint".

I'm sorry, I'm a Mac user and Adobe does not make Acrobat (regular) available to the Mac, only Acrobat Pro. So I can't help you on that. 

However, I might be able to help you on your scanning.

As I look at your attached jpg, I need a big of explanation of what I'm seeing: I'm not sure if I'm seeing the result of Acrobat trying to OCR your handwriting or I'm looking at a lot of garbage text. 

I do see some handwriting/printing on the lower right and I do see that it is not always consistant. This is caused by your software trying to make the background "white" and it's over-doing it. Normally you do want that becuase it corrects for bleed-through, when you can see the print on the other side of the paper. To do this, the software tries to make the 'gray' that it senses white and when that's overdone, it can make some darker gray white as well. That's what causing this. 

You have two options: turn off whatever option that is doing that. It might be an option to make the background white or it could also be a setting for "document" as opposed to "photo." You'd want "photo" but be aware that it might make the background too gray. The other option is to try and control the amount of gray by yourself. Here is a blog I wrote discussing this. Also, IF the gibberish is Acrobat's trying to OCR the handwriting, turn the OCR off. Do not try to do that, Acrobat cannot understand handwritten characters.
