Glitch with selecting line of text in PDF (can only select 1 word at a time)

I am using Acrobat Pro, and when I use my mouse to try and select a line of text in the PDF, I can only select 1 word at a time. I cannot select a word and drag and select a line of text to copy or highlight. 

 

The PDF has been OCR'd. This issue is not happening when using Microsoft Word.

Can you select more than one word in other PDF files? If so, then whatever the issue is, is very likely caused by the PDF file. 

 

Are you using the new or the old user interface for Acrobat? If it's the new, you can try to switch to the old user interface and try again.
