Help in creating an object from a shape and a letter in Pro DC

Hi all,

I'm trying to create some simple objects that I will use when making technical drawings for work. One of them will be a square with an X in it going from corner to corner. I can make this shape by drawing a square and then laying an X of the correct size over the top of it but I'm wondering if there's a way to make this an object that can be moved all at once instead of having to first move the square and then the X. This might be a simple function but I'm fairly new to this program. I'm using Acrobat Pro DC.

I have to give you this strong advice: do not use Acrobat to do technical drawing. It is a very limited tool. The editing is for fixing problem files as a desperate measure. It has been oversold as an editor; it is not. Use a suitable technical drawing app. I know you want PDF, but you can make PDFs from anything. We can probably help with that.

I know Acrobat might not be the best application for technical drawings but our drawings are really quite simple and it does everything I need it to no problem. It's just this last little issue with these couple of symbols that I'm trying to figure out. Then it will be perfect for what I'm looking for. Our drawings are normally all hand drawn so I'm just looking to save some time by having a lot of the material already typed out and saved in a few different template files so I don't have to hand write so much of it. The stamp idea mentioned below may work. I'm not totally sure how to go about it though. Is there a way to cut around the symbol that I've made using the drawing tools and then save that as a stamp?

As far as creating the file that will become the stamp is concerned, what's the best way to get this small symbol on it's own. Do I need to draw it on a piece of blank paper and then scan that as a pdf or can I draw it using acrobat and then cut it out and save it as its own file? The symbol itself is quite small at only about a quarter inch square. I've created the symbol already in the document by drawing a square, typing the letter X at the right size font and then dragging the X on top of the box so that it fits corner to corner. I apologize if these questions seem a bit basic. I haven't worked that much with PDFs and Acrobat before.

You can use Illustrator and save as PDF, or even Micrsoft Word and save as PNG.
