How can two people sign the same PDF on one computer?

I support case managers that are converting to a paperless office. They need clients to sign a PDF on their tablet PC. Is there a way to simply pass the tablet to the client and have them sign it, and have it count as a valid signature? It seems that doesn't work right now because Acrobat wants you to save a signature in the app, which isn't the goal here. Or it wants you to email the PDF to someone to get their signature. That shouldn't be necessary if the person is sitting right next to you. I'm not very knowledgable in the use of Acrobat so forgive my ignorance here. Right now their method of accomplishing this is to email the PDF to a second device, have the client sign on that device, then email the PDF back to their tablet PC. There must be a better way.

    Add two digital Signature fields, and then each person could sign using their own (password-backed) profile on the same computer.

    While this certainly answers the question title, it doesn't take the extra information from the question body into account: @Klamath County IT for case managers want a way to simply pass the tablet to the client and have them sign it, and an arbitrary client is very unlikely to have a profile on a case manager's tablet pc.

     

    That being said,

    What kind of electronic signature do you need? Is some arbitrary scribble without further ado enough? Or is some additional identification of the signer needed, be it by their e-mail address, by some smart ID card, or by something else? 

    If a scribble is enough, then there surely will be some way that merely requires passing the tablet to the client.

    If identification via e-mail is required, an e-mail must be received by the client. 

    If identification via smart ID cards is required, that table pc should have a smart card reader the client can use for identification.

    If some other kind of identification is required, there surely is a need for other additional software or hardware.

    Either way, though,  it's likely a custom PDF viewing and signing software is required to make the process work seamlessly.

    There's no good way to do this using the "Sign" features in Acrobat. Here are a couple of workarounds.

     

    1. Add text fields to the form that use a script or hand writing font. The user types their name into the field.  Sounds ridiculous doesn't it. But this technique is in use, in fact, the Adobe Sign service uses it. 

     

    2. Enable the Pen markup tool and have the user sign with their finger or mouse(pointer pen).
