How do I prevent Acrobat from automatically uploading files to the cloud when emailing from the app?

In days gone by you used to be able to email your file from within the application. Over the years Adobe have been pushing the use of its cloud storage services and made it increasingly difficult to do. Now that facility seems to have been dropped entirely from its sharing option OR am I missing somethign here?  ATM if I click on the envelope (email button) it starts an automatic upload and shoots a link to it in my mail app. I am not happy about this - can anyone help?

To stop Adobe Cloud from changing your attachments to links in Microsoft Outlook, you can disable the relevant add-ins. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Open Outlook and go to the main window.
  2. Click on the File tab in the upper left corner.
  3. Select Options from the menu.
  4. In the Outlook Options window, go to the Add-ins category on the left.
  5. At the bottom of the window, you’ll see a Manage drop-down menu. Select COM Add-ins and click Go.
  6. In the COM Add-ins window, uncheck the box next to Adobe Document Cloud for Microsoft Outlook.
  7. Click OK to save your changes.

Thanks for your guidance as your advise did seem promising but i cannot get the cloud feature off, which when i have poor internet causes problems as i cannot not convert docs onto my laptop

1. Open Outlook and select New Email.

2. In the New Email pop-up select Acrobat from the menu at the top of the window then select Settings.

3. Choose the option you want.

Adobe Acrobat for Outlook

Try this link.  I followed the steps and it worked for me.  I set it back to prompt.

When you clic the envelope, this appears.

Make sure the send as link in toggled off and it should attach the pdf to the email.

Hope this helps.

Yes. Go to Edit (or the Acrobat app menu on a Mac) - Preferences - Email Accounts and tick off the "Always send files as a link" checkbox.
